Initial value problems for second order hybrid fuzzy differential equations

Usage of fuzzy differential equations (FDEs) is a natural way to model dynamical systems under possibilistic uncertainty. We consider second order hybrid fuzzy differentia

Modified Variational Iteration Method for Second Order Initial Value Problems

In this paper, we introduce a modified variational iteration method for second order initial value problems by transforming the integral of iteration process. The main advantages of this modification are that it can overcome the restriction of the form of nonlinearity term in differential equations and improve the iterative speed of conventional variational iteration method. The method is appli...

Existence of positive solutions for fourth-order boundary value problems with three- point boundary conditions

In this work, by employing the Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem, we study the existence of positive solutions of a three-point boundary value problem for the following fourth-order differential equation begin{eqnarray*} left { begin{array}{ll} u^{(4)}(t) -f(t,u(t),u^{prime prime }(t))=0 hspace{1cm} 0 leq t leq 1, & u(0) = u(1)=0, hspace{1cm} alpha u^{prime prime }(0) - beta u^{prime prime pri...

B-Spline Finite Element Method for Solving Linear System of Second-Order Boundary Value Problems

In this paper, we solve a linear system of second-order boundary value problems by using the quadratic B-spline nite el- ement method (FEM). The performance of the method is tested on one model problem. Comparisons are made with both the analyti- cal solution and some recent results. The obtained numerical results show that the method is ecient.

Second order abstract initial - boundary value problems

Introduction Partial differential equations on bounded domains of R n have traditionally been equipped with homogeneous boundary conditions (usually Dirichlet, Neumann, or Robin). However, other kinds of boundary conditions can also be considered, and for a number of concrete application it seems that dynamic (i.e., time-dependent) boundary conditions are the right ones. Motivated by physical p...
